L-shaped, two-sided stone quoins wrap the corner of a wall to give the impression of solid stone used in massive masonry construction. Two sided quoins are typically available in both antique and new materials.
Three-sided quoins are stones that have the middle carved out. They are effectively “C” shaped and are used to conclude a wall or column and avoid the “ship lapped” detail common with 3-4” thick materials. Three sided quoins are only fabricated in newly cut stone.
Quoins are priced by the cubic foot of stone the piece is made from. Known as a “bounding box”, this is defined as the height x the length x the width.
